Two Hour Transport will host our SIXTH EVER online reading event, via Zoom, on Wednesday, August 26th, at the usual Two Hour Transport time. Our featured readers will be Nisi Shawl and the Hugo-nauts (Shane Patrick White, Rossella Conti, Amanda Myre, Perry Kent, Steph Kwiatkowski, and Douglas Rudoff). Although we will not be together in person, we will be present with each other, warmly, by video or phone through Zoom. Join us!
Bring yourself, and any food or beverages that you’d like, and join us ONLINE for two hours of science fiction and fantasy reading. All the usual components of the event will be in place: open mic sign-ups, open mic readings, and invited readers.

READER BIOS
Nisi Shawl, winner of one Kate Wilhelm Solstice Award and two Locus Awards, wrote the 2016 Nebula Award finalist Everfair (Tor) and the 2008 Tiptree Award-winning collection Filter House (Aqueduct). Their stories also comprise the contents of PM Press’s 2019 Talk like a Man and Dark Moon’s 2018 Primer to Nisi Shawl, and they have edited and co-edited numerous anthologies such as New Suns: Original Speculative Fiction by People of Color. In 2005 they co-wrote Writing the Other: A Practical Approach. Shawl helped found the Carl Brandon Society, and serves on the board of the Clarion West Writers Workshop. They live in Seattle and take frequent walks with their cat.
Hugo-nauts bios
Shane Patrick White has worked as an author and artist in the comic, video game, and film industries for the past 20+ years. He has written short stories for Amazon Rapids, the Amazon kids educational group, as well as three graphic novels which he also illustrated. Shane spends much of his time writing, painting, and creating videos for The Process, his popular art channel.
Rossella Conti is an Italian writer perpetually living abroad. She has worked as a model agent, an advertising copywriter, and a rapper in a hip-hop group. She has lived in Japan, Indonesia, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and Spain, from whence she made a bid for the European Parliament. After failing in the primaries’ first round, she moved to Bainbridge Island, where she is set to remain for an indeterminate period of time, due to a lack of legal documents and a pandemic. Her husband, three children and Dalmatian dog are her favorite excuses for not writing.
Amanda Myre won an essay contest at the zoo at age eleven, and has been hooked on writing ever since. Originally from Texas, she moved to the DC area to obtain a college education in international politics. This provided some first-class world-building inspiration, but was sadly lacking in material relating to dragons, fairies, aliens, or time travel. She now lives in Seattle with her human family, two elderly cats, and more books than she will ever find time to read.
Perry Kent is an author born, raised, and living in the greater Seattle umbrella. He became a scifi reader at a young age when he tried to escape his grandparent’s hot, dusty ranch by sticking his head in a book. He became a writer several hours later, when he attempted to write some (long lost) fanfiction involving the dragons of Pern. Formally educated in Computer Science, his creative writing education comes from books, Clarion West seminars, and classes at Hugo House. Steph Kwiatkowski is an Illinois native who writes about lonely sea monsters, cake-batter pores, and sentient vending machines. Now based in Seattle, she has worked as a nonprofit administrator, a preschool teacher, and served up hundreds of lattes. Douglas Rudoff lives in Seattle with his wife Margaret and his teenage son Liam. He is an intermittent short story writer, and on occasion manages to get something published, such as “Who Weeps for Chtulhu?” appearing in the Two Hour Transport Anthology. You may have unwittingly used his work in software engineering if you ever analyzed Soviet intelligence, requested a taxi online in Paris, had your cell phone account suspended, had your power restored after Hurricane Katrina, or just wasted time on the internet.
