Kristin King is a Seattle native who enjoys books, kayaking, Doctor Who, and turtles. She is the author of the short story collection Misfits from the Beehive State (2013). Her work has appeared in such places as Strange Horizons, Calyx, The Pushcart Prize XXII (1998), and the anthology Missing Links and Secret Histories (2013). Right now, she’s busy working on a twisty time travel novel and blogging at kristinking.wordpress.com.
Hafidha Acuay is a New York native and long-time resident of the Pacific NW. As an adolescent, she gorged herself on cable every time she visited her grandmother’s place in Queens. She couldn’t get enough of Star Trek (TNG), The Twilight Zone, Amazing Stories, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Ray Bradbury Theater. She spent her newspaper money on subscriptions to Ellery Queen’s & Asimov’s. But because she also loved Louisa May Alcott, Dickens, and Babysitter’s Club, she never thought of herself as a sci-fi fan. Now she lives in Seattle, unschools her seven year old, and writes “on the side.” For herself: poetry. For money: essays, features, and travel. Her current fiction projects include a collection of SF short stories and a paranormal mystery. She likes to write viragos, and awkward men, and people who don’t realize their backstory matters until it is too late.
