We are kicking off the new year with invited readers Nisi Shawl and Eileen Gunn.  It is truly an honor.

Bios

Nisi Shawl’s story collection Filter House co-won the James Tiptree, Jr. Award in 2009.  In 2015 she co-edited the critically acclaimed anthology Stories for Chip: A Tribute to Samuel R. Delany.  She is coauthor of Writing the Other: A Practical Approach. Her Belgian Congo steampunk novel Everfair is due out from Tor in September 2016.

Eileen Gunn’s work has received the Nebula Award in the US and the Sense of Gender Award in Japan, and has been nominated for the Hugo, Philip K. Dick, and World Fantasy awards and short-listed for the James Tiptree, Jr. award. Her stories have been published in Asimov’s, Tor.com, Nature, and elsewhere; her most recent collection, Questionable Practices, appeared in 2014 from Small Beer Press.
